Dean to take charge of Liberty Stadium Clash

Stay connected for news and updates

The Wirral's Mike Dean is the man that'll take charge of Saturday's clash at the Liberty Stadium.

Mr Dean last took charge of Reading for our 3-1 win at Southampton that all but secured our promotion so hopefully he'll be taking charge of a game that gives lots of our players the belief that we're good enough to stay here.

Prior to that Dean refereed our 4-2 home defeat to Villa as well a 3-1 win away at Birmingham back in 2008. In our last season in the top division he took charge of three games, including two defeats to Chelsea and a home loss against Portsmouth. Reading earned two red cards in those three games with Kalifa Cisse seeing red in our home game with Chelsea while Ibrahima Sonko deservedly saw red early on in the Pompy game.

Generally I've not got too many problems with Dean who hasn't had an awful lot to deal with this season, leading four Premier League games without a red card.

2012/13 stats: Games 6 Yellows 12 Reds 0
