Southampton 1-0 Reading

Last year we went to St Mary's looking for a result to make sure we were a Premier League team in 2012/13. This time we head to the South Coast looking for three points that could go a long way to deciding if we're still a Premier League team in 2013/14. It's another big test for Brian McDermott's side and we'll have all of the build up and reacton here on The Tilehurst End

Southampton 1-0 Reading: Royals facing an increasingly bleak winter

There's only so many times you can lose a game that's billed as a 'must not lose' before you begin to realise the writing's on the wall. While relegation is far from a mathematical certainty, you'd be a brave man to back Reading to survive based on yesterday's pitiful performance down at St Mary's. On Saturday, the stadium that had been the scene of one of our greatest triumphs instead hosted a Premier League nightmare.

View From The Town End - Southampton

It's hard to believe that it was only 7 months ago that Reading fans were pouring out of St Mary's jubilantly celebrating a win that all but ensured promotion to the Premier League. However things change quickly in football and it's safe to say this season hasn't quite gone to planned thus far. Saturday we head back to the South Coast to face Southampton who have also struggled upon their top flight return. Ahead of the game we are delighted to welcome back Chris Rann who blogs for ESPN and Saints blog, George Weah's Cousin.
