A third straight loss for Reading means the hope of staying up is becoming fainter, but how did our players perform today against Everton?
Taylor: 7 - If it wasn't for our third-choice 'keeper this could have been a rout. Adam Federici would also have probably made the stops but he denied a multitude of Everton players intent on rippling the net.
Kelly: 5 - Possibly his worst performance in a Reading shirt since his arrival. Was turned and overlapped constantly by Pienaar, Baines, and Anichebe late on.
Pearce: 5 - You live and die by your choices, and the decision to bring Pearce back had little effect on the result. Had a few good chances from corners but was part of a defence that was ruthlessly exposed.
Mariappa: 5 - He was never going to challenge aerially against the likes of Fellaini but he was also a mere bystander in all of Everton's goals.
Harte: 6 - Could have closed down Pienaar quicker for the second goal but his corners were a constant menace and he crossed for Hal Robson-Kanu's late consolation.
Kebe: no rating - Was very lively in the opening stages and had two good chances before injury ended his game prematurely.
Leigertwood: 5 - Same as ever for Mikele. He sat in front of the defence and played simple passes but ultimately he lacks the creativity needed to impact a game positively.
Akpan: 5 - A quiet performance from arguably our best midfielder against Wigan as he got little time or space to make a great impact.
McAnuff: 4 - Some wayward shots and crosses, but defensively he offered little to no help to Ian Harte and it was no surprise that Everton's first two goals and better chances came from that flank.
Robson-Kanu: 6 - Scored a powerful header and was dangerous in the air but little else.
Hunt: 5 - Won headers, including a great nod to Kebe for his game-ending chance. On the ground, though, he created and offered too little.
Le Fondre: 5 - Could have scored and should have had a penalty - sums up his day which was pretty quiet aside from those two big chances.
Blackman: no rating - No meaningful time to make an impact.
